Wednesday Clouds Could Lead to Thursday Floods

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Malvern area effective Thursday morning to Friday morning.

Two to three inches of rain could fall, beginning early Thursday. The heaviest precipitation will occur during the day Thursday and into nighttime.

"The estimated rainfall amounts will likely cause flooding of low lying areas, as well as cause smaller streams and creeks to rise out of their banks," according to the NWS. The effects of the heavy rainfall might not be fully felt until the weekend after the rain has stopped, as runoff continues to accumulate.
