At its Wednesday night meeting, the East Whiteland Board of Supervisors will vote on whether to extend a police services contract with the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Commission.

In September, the supervisors agreed to let East Whiteland Police Chief Eugene Dooley serve as interim chief of the WEGO department on a part-time basis.

"The contract between WEGO and EWT for the services of Chief Gene Dooley is set to expire at the end of 2012.  WEGO is asking to extend the contract through June 2013," East Whiteland Township Supervisor Terry Woodman said in an email.

The WEGO police force was at risk of disbanding at the time the original contract was struck, but has since been renewed through 2018.
