Where Was This Photo Taken?

It was in the Malvern area in 1979, but where exactly?

The photo above, provided by the East Whiteland Historical Commission, was taken in December 1979.

The building in the photo dates back to the mid 19th century, and is still standing.

Can you guess where the photo was taken? Submit your answers in the comments, and we'll post the correct answer with a current photo next Wednesday.

Now a part of the Sheraton; owned by the Stanford family in the early 1900's? Laura Stanford Beaver and Ada Beaver Kessler were born there and went on to teach in local area schools well into their '70s! Their brother was killed in an airplane accident shortly after planes were invented when he flew over the house to dip his wings at his Mom & siblings. Way back after WWI when the Malvern & Paoli airports were in existence. I know -- because Gong Gong Stanford (his mother) told me about it in the 1950's! Oh -- the memory of the "stinkin' Lincoln" nearby -- a blast from the biker bar of the '60s past -- they later all wound up at "Pete & Jerry's" !!! I know because I was there (on my 3-speed Schwin!) hahahahaha!

Thanks for participating everyone, keep the guesses coming! Also, I am willing to bet that Regina gets more pleasure out of this historical photo series than any other reader. Love to see that, and to hear her memories of Malvern's past.
