Updated with Sketch: Willistown Police Searching for Hilldale Road Burglar

The man is described as white, in his early 40s, approximately 6 feet tall.

Updated 8:30pm: Statement from the Willistown Police:

On Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 2:35pm, Willistown Police responded to a burglary in progress on Hilldale Road in Malvern.  The homeowner observed a white male leaving the rear of the residence wearing one black glove and possibly armed with a small pocket knife.  The suspect is described as a white male, in his mid 30’s- early 40’s with short dark hair.  He was approximately 6’ 0” tall and weighed approximately 200lbs with a muscular build.  The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants with black boots.  The homeowner observed a noticeable scar on the left side of the suspect’s neck.           

The suspect fled the scene in a dark blue or black Jeep Liberty bearing an unknown Pennsylvania registration.

Updated 6:30pm—Some clarifications from the homeowner: She was already in the home, upstairs, at the time of the incident. She heard the dog barking and came downstairs, finding the alleged burglar, who was armed with a knife.

The burglar said nothing, but left the house and drove off in a dark blue Jeep Liberty, which the homeowner had seen parked in the neighborhood on several occasions.

Willistown Police are searching for a suspected burglar found inside a Hilldale Road home Thursday afternoon.

The man is described as a white male in his early 40s, between 5-foot-10-inches and 6-foot-1-inch. 

Hilldale Road is located between Spring Road and Laurel Circle, off Warren Avenue south of Paoli Pike. 

The homeowner entered her home around in the mid afternoon and found the man already inside. (See correction above -ed.) He immediately fled the house, and might have left in a dark blue or black Jeep Liberty, according to Willistown Police Det. Steve Jones.

There were no signs of forced entry, and nothing appeared to be missing.
