Yep, It Could Snow Saturday

Winter storm watches are not far away—a storm system that's currently in Texas is poised to quickly intensify as it hits the East Coast on Saturday. This intensification will allow for rain to mix with and change to snow throughout much of the region during the afternoon hours on Saturday as the storm pulls colder air down from higher up in the atmosphere and from our north.

While the heaviest snows, as of this evening, look to accumulate in the Poconos, the potential for a couple of inches of snow on Saturday can't be ruled out.  Higher elevation areas (out towards Elverson, up towards Perkasie) will receive more snow than Schuylkill Valley with this storm.

If it does indeed snow, it will be the area's first October snowfall since 2008 and our third since 1979 (2002 also in the list). October snows are pretty rare around here but thankfully this snowfall will not stick around for very long, likely melting not after it falls.
