Delphine Carroll Running for School Board

She decided to run when a board member wasn't representing her the way she wanted.

Name: Delphine Carroll

Address
: 6 Hilldale Road, Malvern

Running For: School Board Region 3

Positions Held Previously: None

Explain which issues motivated you to run: I was motivated to run because of an apathetic board member.

He was a Republican running unopposed in the Primary election. As a life-long
Republican, I decided to run as a write-in candidate to have my voice heard.
He won the Republican seat with little effort, and I won the Democratic seat
as a write-in, while still getting a good number of Republicans to vote for me.

Then this opponent dropped out of the race! Apparently being opposed was not
something he was interested in doing.

This left a vacancy for the Republican seat. Ironically, the Republican Party is
now pushing the candidacy of a life-long Democrat who has not won on any
previous Democratic ballots and has not attended any school board meetings
this year.

The students, parents and citizens of the GVSD deserve someone to represent
them who is actively participating as a board member and can make difference in
the quality of our district.

Is there an area in which you think the current administration could have performed better, and how would you address that area: I would like to see some more cost cutting and efforts to keeping taxes low while improving the quality and integrity of the Great Valley School District.

As a realtor on the Main Line, I see the direct correlation between increased
home values and highly ranked school districts. Senior’s to pre-schooler’s benefit
from having a highly ranked school district, and I believe I can help find more
creative solutions to getting improved school programming without raising taxes.
