Empty Bowls at Malvern Prep

Malvern Preparatory School is hosting its popular Empty Bowls event. This year, the School hopes to surpass the 900 bowls made and $11,000 raised for the Bethesda Project last year.

Reserve tickets online. $25 per adult and $15 per child 10 and under.

The way an Empty Bowls event works is simple. The Malvern community creates ceramic bowls, then serves a simple meal of donated soup and bread. Guests choose a bowl to use that day and to keep as a reminder that there are always Empty Bowls in the world. Additional bowls will be on sale at the event, along with silent auction pieces donated by students and area artists.

All proceeds from our event are
donated to Bethesda Project, an organization that works to reaffirm the dignity of our homeless brothers and sisters in Philadelphia. "It is part of our Christian duty to do all that we can to help these people," says Malvern senior Conor Glancy of West Chester, "whether it’s going to volunteer at the Bethesda Project, donating money, or using our time and talent."
