House Affiliates will offer a two-part workshop, Establishing a Maintenance Program for your House Museum or Historic Site. These workshops will outline the components of a maintenance program and provide you with basic tools for preparing a maintenance plan. Both parts will be held at the Chester County Historical Society in West Chester, PA. Workshop leaders will be Susan and Dale Frens whose firm, for the past 22 years, has focused on historic building research, conservation, restoration, adaptive use and maintenance planning. They are experts in building preservation technology and and the design of practical and achievable technical solutions to building conservation problems. The first program will be devoted to the three components of a maintenance program. Participants will be given a budget template for a maintenance plan which they will use to asses their own properties. At the second session, these spreadsheets will be used for the basis of discussion and planning. The cost is $60 (two-day workshop) and participants should pack a brown bag lunch for both sessions. For more information contact Pru Haines, Director, History Affiliates at 215-732-6200 ext. 243, or phaines@hsp.org.
