Josiah Hibberd Memorial Brown-Bag Picnic

Friends of Josiah Hibberd, a Malvern schoolteacher and principal who passed away in September, are organizing an event in his honor.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. the public is invited to gather for a "celebration of life, picnic in the park memorial," according to Helen Behler, a friend of Hibberd helping to plan it. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 21.

Anyone who wishes to come can bring their own brown paper bag meal to the Malvern Memorial Grounds near Paoli Battlefield. The theme reflects the fact that Malvern Elementary School had no cafeteria, so all students brought lunches from home.
