LAST DAY of The Foundation at Great Valley's Spring Campaign for Schools

As The Foundation at Great Valley enters the final day of their Spring Campaign, donations from the community continue to roll in. Nearly $120,000 has been donated so far to help fund innovative programs in Great Valley schools.

“Once again, our community is coming out in force to show our united commitment to excellence in education,” said John Vestri, president of The Foundation at Great Valley. “Our donation dollars go directly toward new programs that challenge and inspire our students.”

The Foundation aims to raise $250,000 by midnight. While that goal may seem lofty, it is one that The Foundation reached in a prior campaign. The Great Valley community began giving private donations to The Foundation in the spring of 2012 when the school district faced a budget crisis.

“The community responded by donating more than $250,000 to The Foundation’s Write the Future campaign, which kept those important programs in our schools.”

Vestri says that the need for private support of public schools continues, saying that innovation in schools across the country is growing at a faster pace than tax dollars can keep up with.

“The districts that are staying in front of the curve are those that have introduced foundations to allow private funding for truly innovative programs that inspire students to succeed in today’s changing world. Great Valley has always valued its quality schools, and their support of The Foundation is tangible evidence of that,” said Vestri.

The Foundation accepts donations online, and checks can be mailed to: The Foundation at Great Valley, PO Box 74, Malvern, PA 19355.
