Matthew Cordle Video

I’m Jacqueline Jewell, a student at Immaculata University enrolled in Contemporary Issues of Professional Writing. I recently viewed the YouTube video of Matthew Cordle’s response to killing a man after he drove while intoxicated. Then I read an article from Ohio’s own ABC23 television website (copyright 2013 Scripps Media), turnto23.com, regarding this matter. To get a reflective sense of the clip, I gathered opinions. Rhonda Fioresie, Immaculata faculty member, said “That is a powerful message that looks at somebody’s choices and takes responsibility for their actions. I think that is the meaning of life, to learn to take what teaches us those lessons, and that’s his way.” Destiny Justice, Immaculata student, also commented, “It sends an inspirational message, we all should learn from”. My response to the video is this; Drinking while driving is wrong, and Americas’ rate of car accidents has increased due to high BAC levels. You are driving a weapon, which can take away lives. Matthew Cordle committed a terrible crime but his noble deed to our country reminds us of the good. Hopefully others will be influenced not to drink and drive.
