Ex-Penn State Leaders To Be Tried

Three former Penn State leaders will be tried for their role in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

A preliminary hearing found that there was enough evidence to try Graham Spanier, Penn State’s former president; Tim Curley, former athletic director and Gary Schultz, former senior vice president, on charges including perjury, child endangerment, obstruction and failing to report abuse according Philly.om.

E-mails surfaced that contradict previous testimony about how much the men knew about Sandusky’s activities, according to published reports.

This is the latest chapter in the fallout from the scandal surrounding the charges of sexual abuse levied against Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach. Sandusky was found guilty in 2012 and sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.

No trial date has not been set, but Schultz’s lawyer told CNN that they expect it to begin in March.
