Blotter: Car Egged, Double-Syrup'ed

Arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary… On Nov. 9, a resident of the 100 block of West Broad Street reported that his home had been burglarized some time between 11 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.  One of the glass panes of his apartment door had been broken, and the man showed police a glass jar labeled "car fund" that was reportedly missing $700 in cash.

Underage drinking... On Nov. 11, an officer in the Malvern Shopping Center observed a Toyota Camry headed east on King Street fail to stop at the intersection with Powelton Avenue. The officer stopped the vehicle on Warren Avenue and smelled alcohol inside. A 17-year-old girl, who was not driving, was found to be the only person drinking.

DUI… On Nov. 16, at 11:20 p.m., police stopped a Honda that had veered three feet into the oncoming lane of traffic near King Street and Crest Avenue. The driver, a 61-year-old Paoli man, had difficulty retrieving documents from his glove box. He failed field sobriety tests and police found a small box containing what appeared to be marijuana in his pants pocket. He was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood tests.
