Blotter: Food Stamps for Sale

Arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Fraud… On Nov. 26, police received a report from an anonymous female caller at Raintree Condominiums, who said someone had attempted to sell her and several other Raintree residents food stamps in exchange for cash.

Fraud… On Nov. 30, the National Bank of Malvern reported a wire fraud to Malvern Police, in the amount of $6,500. Documents relating to the incident were turned over to investigators.

Assault… The morning of Dec. 11, a 60-year-old Willistown resident was arrested for simple assault of his girlfriend. According to police, the assault started in his Willistown home, but the victim drove with the man to a friend's home in Malvern Borough, where police were called due to her screaming for help. The woman had bruising and cuts on her arms and legs, and police charged the man with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was released on 10 percent of $5,000 bail.

Re: blotter on assault - the name of the 60 year old male needs to be mentioned as this is not the first time his has happened and people in the community have the right to be protected and aware so they can feel safe - thank you!
