Burn Victim Airlifted Thursday Near GVMS

The middle school was used as a landing zone to transport a Charlestown woman to the hospital.

Several Malvern Patch readers have asked what brought emergency vehicles and a helicopter to Thursday afternoon, around 5 p.m.

According to police and fire officials, a Charlestown woman on oxygen suffered burns while smoking. The East Whiteland Fire Company and ambulance and Malvern Fire Company paramedics responded. The nearby middle school field was used as a landing zone for a medical helicopter, and the woman was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center.
