East Whiteland Police Blotter: Arrested in a Mud Pit
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
Driving Under the Influence... On Sunday, June 19, Jessica Kopeitz, 21, of Frazer, Pa., was arrested for DWUI after flipping a vehicle on Swedesford Road west of Planebrook Road.
Theft from a Quarry... On Monday, June 20, at midnight, East Whiteland Township Police responded to Glasgow Quarry on Route 29 and found two subjects had burglarized the office and had taken a work truck. The two jumped out of the truck and were pursued by officers. Matthew Dunham, 23, of Hicksville, Del., was arrested in a mud pit. A search for the second subject on the grounds produced no results, until Glasgow employees observed Joseph Slider, 51, of Claymont, Del., hiding at 1:15 p.m. the same day. Slider was arrested. Both were arraigned and sent to Chester County Prison on $25,000 and $15,000 bail, respectively. The two had also taken scrap metal, which was recovered.
Gas Station Theft... At 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, officers responded to an alarm at the LukOil station at 201 Morehall Road, and found the business's windows had been smashed. Once inside, the suspects took a small amount of cash from the register. Officers checked the Sunoco station at 141 Morehall Road and found that the front door was smashed, and the cash register ransacked with a small amount of money missing.
