Escape from Hell

New photo and video show just how intense the fire was that left a Malvern family homeless.

It is amazing that everyone got out alive. That is how several witnesses on the scene of Tuesday morning's house fire in Mavlern described the blaze that gutted a house and left a family homeless-but alive.  Two parents, a grandmother and two and a half year old girl escaped the inferno that claimed the lives of several family pets.

Fire companies from Radnor to West Chester and beyond were called in to fight the flames or provide support.  The Berwyn Fire Company was among the first to arrive to help Malvern firefighters.

Berwyn Firefighters shot a photo of flames pouring out of the building as one their engines was pulling up to the scene.  Firefighter Bryan Rachko captured a short video as Tower 2 was arriving at the burning building.
