Fire Company Responds to Gas Leak on Phoenixville Pike

The following information is provided by the East Whiteland Fire Company.

The East Whiteland Fire Company responded to a hazmat situation on Phoenixville Pike on Oct 31, according to a release from the department.

According to its website, the fire company was called to action after a propane tank on the 3200 block of Phoenixville Pike was reportedly leaking in the area. Firefighters reportedly found a 30-foot long tank with an “active leak” at approximately 10:30 a.m. Authorities shut down the road to prevent ignition and monitored the situation while the area was cleaned up. The situation was resolved by 1:30 p.m.
