Intense Manhunt Nets Driver Who Allegedly Almost Hit Willistown Officer

The man fled the scene and was arrested in Tredyffrin after a search effort that included K-9 units, helicopters and officers from multiple law enforcement agencies.

A 27-year-old Easton man is charged with aggravated assault, reckless driving and resisting arrest after nearly hitting a Willistown police officer with his car Tuesday morning.

The police officer was directing traffic at an accident on the 800 block of Goshen Road at 9:11 a.m., when a blue Nissan sedan nearly struck him. A regional alert was put out, and the description matched that of a "suspicious person" reported on the 1300 block of LeBoutillier Road in Tredyffrin. 

Tredyffrin Police located the blue sedan nearby, and a massive manhunt ensued, according to a press release from the Willistown Police:

At approximately 1:00pm, after an intensive search of the area involving K-9’s, helicopters, foot and vehicle patrols, Tredyffrin officers stopped and detained a black male subject, identified as Jonathan Adams Holley, 27 of Easton, PA. Custody was then turned over to Willistown Township Police Department.

The search involved four municipal police departments, state police, the county sheriff's office and the county department of emergency services. Holley has been remanded to Chester County Prison in lieu of posting $15,000 cash bail and is scheduled for arraignment before Judge Chester Darlington.
