Malvern Police Blotter: Copper Theft, DUI and Burglary

March 7-13, 2011, edition.

Burglary on Landmark Drive ... A homeowner reported on March 7 that her home had been burglarized some time within the past three days. Approximately $5,000 worth of jewelery was missing. Police have not ruled out the possibility that the jewelery was only misplaced, as there was no forced entry and nothing else was taken. An investigation is ongoing.

Theft on Pennsylvania Avenue ... A business owner reported that about $6,600 worth of copper tubing was stolen from his business on March 8. The stolen wiring was in various sizes and lengths. There was a broken window on the left side of the building and a double door that was open, but that had not been forced. An investigation is ongoing.

DUI on Bridge Street ... On March 13, police pulled over Brian Ruvolo, 34, at 1:49 a.m. for failure to come to a stop at a stop sign at Bridge Street and Old Lincoln Highway.  Ruvolo, who has a previous DUI conviction, failed field sobriety tests, and was taken to the hospital for blood testing.
