Malvern Police Blotter: DUI and a Note on Parking From The Department

March 21-27, 2011, edition.

DUI on West King Street...  In the early morning hours of Saturday, March 26, Malvern Police pulled over Stephen Pinkston, 64, of Downingtown for failure to come to a complete stop at two intersections. Pinkston, driving a 2001 BMW at 1:40 a.m., had rolled through stop signs at Powelton Avenue and Crest Avenue. After failing field sobriety tests, he was taken to the hospital for blood testing.

Note from the Malvern Police Department: Cars parked along borough streets should be facing the flow of traffic. This issue tends to come up more when Little League baseball season comes around. Parking tickets issued for failure to obey this rule result in a $15 fee, but if not handled within five days, that amount can go up to $119.
