Malvern Police Blotter: Scooter Fight

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Assault… On July 26, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Old Lincoln Highway. Erika Carty, 24, of Malvern, was charged with simple assault and harassment, as another woman living in the house had marks on her arm.

Underage drinking... On July 30, at 1:18 a.m., an officer observed a parked Dodge minivan in the train station parking lot. The officer made contact with the driver, David Oldt, 20, who said he was returning from a concert in Camden, and issued him a traffic citation for underage drinking.

Criminal mischief... On Aug. 1, police received a report of damage to a real estate sign at 24 Malvern Ave. The complainant said it was the second time the sign had been damaged.

Drug violation... On Aug. 4 at 7:24 p.m., an officer smelled marijuana at Burke Park. As he approached picnic table, he observed a 14-year-old male place a black item in a cargo pocket. Upon investigation, the officer concluded that it was a marijuana grinder containing a green, seedy substance. The boy was referred to the county probation department.

Theft... Police received a report of a fight on Channing Avenue, and investigation revealed that a 15-year-old boy had taken a Razor scooter, valued at $39, from a residential porch. Two boys who live at the house chased him and tackled him. The boy was arrested for theft and referred to the county probation department.
