Malvern Police Blotter: Possible Heroin Overdose on King Street

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Terroristic threat... On June 25, police received a report that between 2 and 3 p.m., Joseph Lee Shultz, 19, of Downingtown, threatened another man with a gun in the area of Monument Avenue. The victim claimed that while he was at the park, Shultz arrived in a truck with two other men, brandished a .45 handgun and said, "Snitches get stitches," in reference to an underage drinking case pending in the borough of West Chester. Police issued an arrest warrant and took Shultz into custody on July 4. He faces charges including intimidation of witnesses or victims, carrying a firearm without a license and making terroristic threats.

Drug Violation... At 5:40 p.m. on July 1, a Malvern Police officer observed a man carrying a woman down King Street near South Warren Avenue. The officer made contact, and discovered the woman, 29-year-old Wynter Johnson, had collapsed due to a possible drug overdose. The man carrying her, Dusty J. Harris, of Raintree Lane in Malvern, was carrying a pocket knife and a used needle, which the officer retrieved with permission. Both Harris and Johnson were taken to Paoli Hospital. Harris was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and related offenses, and Johnson was charged with public drunkenness—a charge which also includes intoxication from drugs, as well as alcohol.

[Edited 7/8/2011 3:30 p.m. to correct charges against Harris and Johnson]
