Malvern Police Blotter: Pot Bust and DUI

Possession of marijuana... On Saturday, May 7, police observed a red Acura sedan traveling east on East King Street near Channing Avenue at 9:33 p.m. with no headlights illuminated. After stopping the vehicle, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside, and removed a green, leafy substance that was later confirmed to be marijuana. The 18-year-old driver, a resident of Newtown Square, was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and violation of general lighting requirements.

DUI... Malvern Police pulled over a black Buick sedan that had failed to come to a complete stop at two intersections on West King Street at 2:33 a.m. Sunday. Debrah Ferraro, 47, of West Chester, failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood tests.
