Blotter: Suicidal Person on Train Tracks, Computer Hacker

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Suicidal Person… On May 20, police responded to the Amtrak railroad tracks in the area of the Charleston Greene Complex for a report of a suicidal subject.  Police instructed Amtrak to suspend service while they searched for the subject. Police located the agitated and hostile subject by the railroad tracks. Police were able to calm the subject, and railroad service was resumed.

Suspicious Person… On May 20, police contacted a male subject who appeared disoriented in the area of North Sugartown Road. The male was suspected to be under the influence of prescription drugs. He did not have any illegal contraband on him, so he was advised to return to his home.

Trespassing… On May 20, police conducted a property check of an abandoned house in the 100 block of East King Street after observing an open window on the east side of the house. Police entered the house through the window and observed drug paraphernalia throughout the house. Police located a male subject sleeping inside. The man was transported to the station for questioning and the window has since been boarded up.

Theft… On May 22, a resident of the 100 block of West First Avenue reported that someone stole aftermarket lights off his pickup truck.

Suspicious Condition… On May 23, a resident of the 300 block of East Broad Street reported that someone remotely accessed his laptop computer. Police observed the cursor and mouse being moved remotely on the screen.
