Malvern Police Blotter: U-Turns Inhibited

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Vehicle accident... On Monday, Feb. 27, a FedEx tractor trailer making deliveries on King Street near Duffryn Avenue made a U-turn in a parking lot near the Malvern Fire Company entrance. The top of the truck snagged the thick utility cables hanging overhead, pulling the wires and knocking over one pole and bending another. The truck was unable to move, as the wires were resting on the it, and police set up a detour from 3:30 p.m. through late Monday night. The damage was repaired Tuesday.

There were no injuries and no damage to the truck, though wires were pulled from a couple of local businesses. No action was taken against the truck driver—the incident was likely the result of sagging wires.  His truck was 13'6" and the wires are supposed to be 14' high.
