Malvern Police Blotter: Attempted Pharmacy Break-In

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

DUI... On July 12 at 11:44 p.m., police pulled over a Nissan Frontier for failure to stop at a posted sign on King Street. The driver, Bryan Beam, 27, of Phoenixville, failed a field sobriety test and was charged with driving under the influence. Two passengers, Sarah Evans, 34, and Marsha Bryant, 27, were charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after exiting the vehicle against police orders.

Vandalism... On July 14, someone moved and damaged a bench on the north side of Burke Park, on South Warren Avenue. A bench on north side of park was damaged. 

Drug Violation… On July 21, police responded to a Jeep Cherokee alarm going off at Charleston Green. The driver, a 17-year-old male, was "confused and disoriented" and couldn't locate his keys. The officer performed search and found a knife and bag with small amount of marijuana in the boy's pants pocket.

Drug violation… Also on July 21, a 17-year-old driver was pulled over for a turn signal violation at  12:14 a.m., at South Warren and First Avenue. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, and a search yielded a pipe and a small bag containing marijuana buds. A passenger, Maria Cook, 18, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Missing iPhone... On July 21, a man told police that he lost a Verizon 16-gig iPhone 4, probably in the Wawa parking lot. He estimated the phone's value at $650.

Attempted Burglary… The morning of July 20, police received a report of an attempted occurred Kohlerman Pharmacy that had happened some time since 8:15 p.m. the previous evening. The rear door locks were compromised, and there was damage to the cinder blocks and anti-entry bar. The perpetrator did not get inside.

Burglary… On July 22, at 12:43 a.m., police responded to an alarm at Kohlerman Pharmacy. When the officer went to check it, he saw a man using a crow bar, trying to gain entry. The man, James McConlongue, 22, of Wayne, admitted he had been to the pharmacy on the previous break-in attempt, when he got spooked and ran. He was taken to Tredyffrin and live scanned.

Theft… On July 21, a woman reported that while she and her daughter were inside Wawa, their red Trek bike was stolen from outside the store. The next day, a man returned the bike to police. He said he'd heard people talking about the bike at Wawa, and subsequently saw a child with the bike, whom he confronted.
