No One Injured in Hillview Road Blaze

Two cars and an apartment were destroyed in a garage fire that began Saturday at 7:40 p.m.

The Paoli Fire Company is reporting that no one was hurt in a fire that struck a garage at 749 Hillview Road in Willistown on Saturday night.

According to chief Ira Dutter, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but it started in a woodworking space within the garage at approximately 7:40 p.m. Fire personnel were on the scene until 1:40 a.m. Paoli Fire Company was assisted by firefighters from Malvern, East Whiteland, Berwyn and Kimberton.

Two cars were destroyed in the blaze, as was the woodshop it began in. An upstairs apartment that is not lived in also sustained significant smoke damage.

Dutter said the home was undamaged, as it is separate from the garage and sits on the other side of the property.

Due to the fire hydrant spacing and long driveways in this area, Engine 4-5 was called in at 8:20 p.m. to respond from the Malvern Fire Company. This pumper tanker unit carries nearly 3,000 gallons of water.
