Blotter: Tunnel of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

DUI… On June 12, 1:05 a.m., an officer parked in a driveway observed an SUV with a flat tire approaching. The officer stopped the vehicle, and smelled alcohol on the driver, an 18-year-old Malvern resident. The driver said he didn't know how to change a tire, so he decided to drive on it. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood tests.

Theft… On June 18, a 35-year-old Oaks woman passed a bad check for $23.75 while paying for a subscription at Kohlerman Pharmacy. After being notified that the check had bounced, the woman said she would stop back to repay the bill, but failed to do so. She is charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

Criminal mischief… An unknown person drove on the field near the borough's pumping station on Ruthlyn Avenue. The damage to the turf is estimated at $200.

Theft… A resident of Monument Avenue reported on June 18 that her home had been burglarized for the second time in a month. Cash from her purse and a Canon digital camera valued at $1139 was reported missing.

Vandalism… On June 21, police received a report of graffiti at the Septa train station. Someone had written “Love will tear us apart” in blue spray paint in the pedestrian tunnel.

Criminal mischief… A resident of Kingsbury Condominiums reported on June 24 that both of her car's front tires had been slashed in the parking lot. A one-inch puncture mark was found in each tire.
