Ready To Play Some Cow Pie Bingo?

Great Valley Community Organization will have the bovine bingo game and much more Saturday at its second annual Fall Family Fun Festival.

Here's how cow pie bingo works: A cow roams a small patch of grass that has been marked with a bingo-like white grid. Each player is assigned a square inside the grid, and whichever square the cow, ahem, soils first is the winner.

At the being held Saturday afternoon, the lucky winner gets $2,000.

This is the second year the Great Valley Community Organization is putting on the fall festival, which runs noon to 6 p.m., rain or shine.

Among the other festivities:

  • a dunk tank
  • pie and wing eating contests
  • an amateur barbecue competition
  • face painting
  • plenty of games and rides (see examples in 2010 photos)

Last year's festival drew hundreds of people and helped raise funds for two GVCO groups—Great Valley Football League (GVFL) and the Great Valley Cheerleading—and other local organizations.

Even more local groups will be benefit from the event this weekend, according to the GVCO:

This year, GVFL will donate a portion of the proceeds to both Malvern and East Whiteland Fire Companies along with the Earth Service Corps of the Upper Main Line YMCA. We are also very excited to announce the GVFL Scholarship Fund which will be established this year!
