Stuck Truck Closes Warren Avenue

Update: The scene has been cleared after an oversized truck became lodged beneath the SEPTA train track overpass on Warren Avenue in Malvern Borough on Monday afternoon.

Update 2:20 p.m.: The truck has been cleared and the roadway is reopened to traffic.

According to police, the commercial truck belongs to Carter Mechanical. The 11-foot-6-inch truck was empty and heading north when it attempted to navigate the underpass, which has an 8-foot-6-inch clearance.

Officer Cordone said the bridge appeared to have sustained cosmetic damage, and he would alert SEPTA to the accident, so they could send out someone to inspect it more closely.

A truck driver told police he was following his GPS when he attempetd to drive under the SEPTA train track overpass on Warren Avenue in Malvern Borough when the truck became stuck.

The accident closed Warren Avenue between King Street and Old Lincoln Highway.

It was reported around 1:10 p.m. Monday afternoon. Officer Joseph Cordone reported around 2 p.m. that most of the debris had been cleared away and the road should be reopened around 2:15 p.m.
