Thief Stole Cash From GV Little League Snack Bar

The repairs to damage from the break-in will cost more than amount stolen, according to staffer.

Stealing in a baseball game is one thing; but stealing from a Little League snack bar is quite another.

Last Friday, Jamie McCardle, who coordinates concessions, stopped by the snack bar to make sure it had enough change for weekend game sales. When she arrived, she found candy scattered on the floor and damage to the room.

"We could not get into the cash register," McArdle said. "That was the next clue something untoward had happened."

A responding East Whiteland Police officer was able to open the register, revealing that about $100 in change and small bills was missing. A thief had broken into an exterior closet and forced his way into the room with the money.

"It probably cost us more to fix the [damage] than they actually took," McArdle said, adding that the snack bar has a new policy—no leaving cash unattended overnight.
