Willistown Detective Promoted to Sergeant

Jeff Heim joined the Willistown Police Department in 1999 and was named Officer of the Year in 2012.

Willistown Police Detective Jeff Heim was promoted to the rank of sergeant in a ceremony Tuesday evening. During the township supervisors meeting, standing before a capacity crowd of friends, family and fellow officers, Heim recited the oath administered by Judge Thomas Tartaglio.

Police Chief John Narcise said promoting Heim was the best part of his job as chief.

"You were the unanimous choice by your colleagues, and that says something about your character. We're lucky to have you," Narcise said.

A West Chester native, Heim graduated from Henderson High School and West Chester University, where he earned a criminal justice degree.

He began his police work in East Whiteland as a part-time officer in 1998 and was hired as a full-time patrol officer in Willistown the following year. In 2004, he became a detective in the criminal investigations unit, which he will now oversee as sergeant.

As he took the oath, Heim was accompanied by his wife, Corrine, and their two children.

"I'm excited for the challenge, and I'm glad everyone came out and supported me," Heim said after the ceremony.

In January, Heim received the in Willistown. He is a member of the regional , a S.W.A.T. unit comprised of specially trained members of many departments.
