Woman Struck, Killed on Paoli Pike

An elderly woman was struck by a car as she crossed Paoli Pike on Sunday morning.

An elderly woman was struck and killed by a passing car as she crossed Paoli Pike near East Goshen Park on Sunday morning.

The woman, 76, of Westtown was taken to Paoli Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, ABC reported. Her identity has not yet been released, The Daily Local News said.

The driver of the car,  a Toyota Prius, was an 83-year-old West Chester man, the Daily Local said. He stopped and was questioned by police. His identity also has not been released.

Traffic on Paoli Pike was diverted for much of Sunday afternoon as police investigated the accident.
