The following case came before Judge Darlington in District Court 15-2-5 on Wednesday, Jan 11. This is not a comprehensive list of all cases heard that day.
Alleged Kim Quoc Nguyen waived a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors added three new counts of robbery—inflicting threat of bodily injury, taking property from others by force and demanding money from a financial institution—to the other charges. Bail remained at $750,000, but both counselors said they expected Delaware County, where Nguyen is on parole, to file a detainer.
The case against Malvern resident Thomas Aubry, 41, was continued again due to the unavailability of a witness who recently gave birth. Aubry of harassment, terroristic threats and misdemeanor weapons charges filed Oct. 27. The judge said the unique circumstances warranted an extention, but told prosecutors that "the clock is ticking" for them to present a case.
Michelle McKeown waived a preliminary hearing for and requested Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD), a program designed for first-time DUI offenders.
All charges against Brandon Brooks were withdrawn due to insufficient evidence, though prosecutors reserved the right to refile. The Coatesville resident had been charged with a litany of charges, including vehicle theft, forgery, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property, stemming from an alleged New Year's Eve vehicle theft.
