GVSD: Tentative Agreement With Teachers Union

The district website announced an agreement on its site, but offered no details.

According to an announcement on the Great Valley School District website, a tentative agreement has been reached between the school board and the teachers' union regarding teacher contracts.

No details will be disclosed before the next scheduled school board meeting on June 4, according to the post on gvsd.org:

The Great Valley School Board is pleased to share that a tentative agreement with the Great Valley Education Association (GVEA) has been reached regarding the current bargaining agreement. Details about that agreement will be discussed by the School Board and voted on at the June 4th School Board meeting. No details about the tentative agreement will be released prior to the June 4th School Board meeting.

The nine members of the school board a previous offer from the GVEA in April. The specific details of that proposal were not disclosed, either. The union said it would save the district roughly $3.5 million, while the school board dismissed it as an extension of the current untenable contract.
