New Venue for April 17 Malvern Police Discussion

The to discuss the possibility of closing the Malvern Police Department will now be held at the First Baptist Church. The meeting will still be held Tuesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 146 Channing Avenue and functions as an election day polling place in the borough.

The church will be able to accomodate 200 people, a larger crowd than the original location, the borough meeting room, would allow. Some police officers and members of the public had raised concerns that the residents would be turned away from the meeting room if it reached capacity.

The borough is considering closing the department and out to a nearby municipality, most likely East Whiteland Township.
