Valley Forge Protestors Hit the Trail

Many want an end to the Affordable Care Act, some just want the national parks re-opened.

Story by Bob Byrne

Hundreds of veterans, motorcyclists, seniors, families took to the paved trail between the (private) Washington Memorial Chapel and the (Federally owned and shut down) Visitors Center in Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Protestors walked the trail and rallied outside the closed visitors center to protest the government shutdown.

It was the second of two protests Sunday in the park.  Hundreds of runners ran along literal boundary line between state and federally controlled property along state roads in the park.

What do you think?

  • Has the shutdown gone on long enough or is it a fight worth having and who do you blame for the shutdown?
