As Pete recently advised, the new construction work is set to begin the week of April 2 at Cedar Hollow Road working east. The project officially starts at the end of the Uptown Worthington project and runs on Vanguard frontage to cross Cedar Hollow Rd., but this will come later. A formal link from the current end at Target to this point will be built by the Worthington project later. This photo shows the Cedar Hollow Rd. location looking east.
Completion of the 7+ mile extension is estimated to take 18 months and includes new bridges over North Valley and Valley Forge Roads as well as a tunnel under Warner Rd. A paved parking lot will be built off of Warner Rd.
The connection at Warner Rd. will allow use of the existing Montgomery County section that currently ends at the Home Depot on Gulph Rd. Within a few years they hope to have the connection to the Schuylkill River Trail completed.
