GVHS Charity Program Gets $1k Boost from Desmond Chef

Chris Calhoun donated his "Taste of Philly" winnings to the Desmond Project.

Chef Chris Calhoun, of the at the Desmond Hotel, recently won the "Taste of Philly" contest. The award came with $1,000 in prize money, which Calhoun has donated to the Great Valley High School students in the Desmond Project. He made the oversized check donation at the April 16 school board meeting.

Calhoun's winning dish was "Poached Pacific halibut in white wine over tomato-orange braised kale with saffron aioli and pommes allumettes (matchstick potatoes)."
