Great Valley School District will offer an online forum on Feb. 27 to educate community members about the district's budget:
District Offers Budget Webinar
The District is pleased to announce a new opportunity for community members to learn about the 2013-14 budget. Through a webinar being offered on February 27, community members can log in right from their computers.
The online presentation will also include a live chat box where participants can ask questions.
"We've never offered an online learning experience related to the budget before," said Superintendent Alan Lonoconus. "But we know that it may be difficult for some people to attend another evening event. This webinar allows those who are interested to log in from anywhere to participate."
According to Lonoconus, the lunchtime webinar will be shorter than other live budget presentations, but will cover the essentials of how the 2013-14 budget is being developed. "We'll look at all the areas of impact," said Lonoconus whose presentation also includes scenarios for possible impact on taxpayers.
The District is partnered with the Chester County Intermediate Unit for delivery of the webinar. While participation is free, people are asked to register in advance.
Directions about how to connect will then be emailed to registrants. Deadline for registration is February 21.
