School Board Gears Up For Contract Negotiations

Heath care costs and preservation of programming are central goals for the board.

The new school year started a few weeks ago, but the Great Valley Board of School Directors is already looking to the future.

The board outlined its goals for the coming collective bargaining agreement negotiation period with the Great Valley Education Association at its meeting Monday night, with the measure passing in an 8-0 vote.

Board member Mary Ravenfeld, who read the goals from statement, said that the board hopes for “negotiations to result in a fair, responsible, sustainable and long-term contract” that is mindful of the “current and projected economic and performance challenges the District faces.”
