Special School Board Meeting Tonight To Fill Open Seat
The GVSD board will meet at 7:30 p.m. for a special business meeting.
The Great Valley School Board will hold a special business meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. to appoint a replacement director to represent Region 1. The meeting will be held at the district administration office, 47 Church Road, in Frazer.
Susanne Carr recently moved out of the school district, thus vacating her seat on the school board. Three candidates met the July 19 deadline to apply for the temporary position, which could change hands again in November.

- Bartholomew Corsaro (East Whiteland)
- Christine Duncan (East Whiteland)
- Ellen Behrle (Charlestown)
The board will attempt to reach a consensus on which candidate should join the board, and if they can do so, the new member will take the oath of office that night.
The public will be given a chance to speak at the beginning of the meeting. The board will also approve a long list of personnel changes in the school system, including faculty members moving between positions and taking family leave.

In the November election, the candidates for the Region 1 school board position will be Cynthia McSweeney and Ellen Behrle.
