THON Event Set for Great Valley This Weekend

All proceeds benefit the Four Diamonds Fund and pediatric cancer patients.

Get ready for some weekend fun For The Kids -- a mini THON will be held Saturday at Great Valley High School.

The IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, held annually at Penn State, is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. All proceeds from Penn State's THON, and from Great Valley's on Saturday, benefit the Four Diamonds Fund and pediatric cancer patients.

"The point is to have the students be on their feet for 12 hours to experience pain on a lesser scale of what a child with cancer goes through daily," said Ariana Bernstein, head of marketing and PR for the Great Valley event.

The Great Valley THON will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Great Valley High School.

"Mini-THONs have been making a difference in the lives of childhood cancer patients and their families for the last 20 years," the Four Diamonds Fund said.
