144th Annual Malvern Memorial Parade and Family Fun Day

On Sunday June 3, 2012 at 1:30 pm, The Upper Main Line Memorial Association will sponsor the 144th Annual Memorial Parade in the Borough of Malvern, Chester County, PA. Recognized as the oldest continuously held Memorial Parade in America; the Parade is expected to include at least eight bands, several military color guards, military and antique vehicles, floats, fire trucks and a decorated bicycle procession.

The Parade route will follow King Street from the Malvern Fire Station west to Warren Avenue, south to Monument Avenue then west to the Memorial Park.

Family Fun Day

In addition to the parade, an entire day of family activities and fun has been added.

To start, there will be the 2nd annual 5K Cross Country "Run For Freedom" Race (proceeds go to the Chester County Hero Fund, and their Wounded Warrior Program) and a ¼ mile Kids Run, both in Memorial Park starting at 8:45AM. Plus there will be a Farmers' Market set up for the afternoon, local student bands performances, field activities for all ages both before and after the parade (sponsored by the CVLL), face painting , and of course, our ever popular old fashioned Community "Cake Walk". There will be lots of food and rest-room facilities, so everyone is invited to come bring a chair or blanket, enjoy the parade and a Family Fun day in the Park!
