GV's Shaughnessy Named C-M Athlete of the Week
Swimmer won four events to gain Ches-Mont League American Division honors.
Great Valley swimmer Catherine Shaughnessy was named the Ches-Mont League Athlete of the Week for the American Division on Monday.
Shaughnessy won four events on Friday when the Patriot girls swam past Sun Valley, 98-85. She was victorious in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle races; was part of the 200 medley relay team that won; and was a member of the victorious 400 freestyle relay unit.
Each Monday, the Ches-Mont League selects a male and female scholar athlete in both the American and National Divisions for their accomplishments of the previous week. This is the first school year the league has recognized Athletes of the Week.
