Bruno, Benevolent Pooch, Passes Away
The 175-pound Great Dane, who volunteered with children while battling cancer, had retired in May.
Bruno, the Great Dane who volunteered in local libraries, hospitals and schools, died Friday. The news was announced on Bruno's Facebook account:
It is with a heavy heart and an tremendous sense of loss that I inform you that yesterday we said good-bye to Bruno and helped him cross over the Rainbow Bridge. After 28 months of fighting two different cancers and the disabilities of old age, it was time to let him go.
Bruno retired from his charitable work less than a month ago. He and his owner Sam Schleiman were well known throughout Malvern and beyond for their tireless efforts to comfort children, hospital patients and anyone in need of companionship.
