The Chester County SPCA will host a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 12 at 2 p.m.

Editor's note: The following information comes from the Chester County SPCA.

On Thursday, April 12 at 2:00 pm, will have a ceremonial ribbon cutting at its newly renovated facility at 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester. This 1.6 million dollar renovation is the most extensive in fifty years. It significantly improves the environment for animals waiting for new homes, as well as provides much needed additional space for these animals in need.

In attendance, expressing their continued support of the CCSPCA mission to promote the welfare and humane treatment of animals and to be an advocate on their behalf, will include Senator Andy Dinniman, Congressman Jim Gerlach and several other elected government officials.

In addition, students from Exton Elementary school will be represented showing their pet artwork, part of their support and fund raising drive focused on educating children about the importance of treating animals with kindness and respect. This is a key shared initiative with the CCSPCA, who on a regular basis, reaches out to the children of Chester County to educate them on the importance of the humane treatment of animals.
As part of the ceremonial opening, the Chester County SPCA will take 50% off the adoption fee of all animals from Thursday, April 12th through Sunday April 15th.

Founded in 1929, the Chester County SPCA is totally independent of any other animal welfare organization and does not receive county, state, or federal tax funding. Instead, the CCSPCA is supported through voluntary contributions and fund-raising events such as the annual Benefit Horse Show, the Walk for Paws, and the Forget-Me-Not Gala. The Chester County SPCA has been named Best Place to Get a Pet by readers of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
