This is a warm and friendly church that was considering expansion until the Great Recession caused them to put their plans on hold. Its members include a diversity of socio-economic backgrounds, a few people of color; and a husband and wife team of co-pianists born and raised in Russia. They have a wonderful music ministry, including the Assistant Pastor Patty Stoltzfus, who also serves as the Director of Music Education. Pastor Jim is a former corporate-man-turned-minister, and as
such is more of a political mover and shaker than a mild-mannered country parson. My mother turned to God late in life and joined Covenant in 2003 after church- shopping extensively on the upper Main Line. She has found a home here and at 89 has become even more active as a lay
service person and worship service reader. I think they have truly embraced her as an integral member of their church community, especially since she faithfully tithes and contributes generously to special appeals for funding. I would rate this church three stars, the main negative being their apparent interest in dominating the religious direction and activity in the Malvern area, somewhat to the detriment and pressure on the less well-off church members.
