Why are we getting Philly news on a Pgh community site.? What hapened to local coverage?. That isRead More what made Patch such a unique useable site.
PS April 7, 2014 at 04:13 pm
Something must be linked wrong with this story because your Pittsburgh comments are showing up onRead More our Philly suburb patch...
Mike Jones April 7, 2014 at 04:50 pm
There's nothing wrong. This is the new delocalized Patch. They've cross-published this story to allRead More websites in Pennsylvania. That's why you're seeing everyone's comments. For some reason, the people in New York City think we Pittsburghers give a hoot about the Phillies getting rained out.
It's our national pastime. Should it be a national holiday, too? (Patch file photo)
Diane Berl April 1, 2014 at 03:03 pm
No holiday!!!! Our children already score lower than other countries in education. They don't needRead More anothe lame excuse to miss school.
Andrew April 1, 2014 at 04:53 pm
Baseball isn't the national pastime anymore. So no, no holiday.
Roger Jurczak April 1, 2014 at 08:05 pm
Boy! This writer sure has a gift for dreaming big! Money must grow on trees.............. perhapsRead More its just a slow news day

Here's Johnny: Now...just where are those WMD's/ Not to mention the billions Bushbutt handedRead More over to pvt. companies so the military footprint in Iraq could be diminished? BTW, companies like Blackwater took OUR tax dollars and hired Third World laborers at ten cents on the dollar for their Iraqi ops. Corp. America made billions while middle/working class kids did the dying.

Hey John and Simon, You are right on, Mr. Swales is not interested in football, just his personalRead More agenda . I think the Eagles will do just fine this year. I was really impressed with Riley Cooper's play last year as well as the rest of the team.

Forget the time - the kid played high school basketball, which was against the rules. He took theRead More opportunity to win 10K from someone else and gets rewarded for it. Lame.
Gina TB February 20, 2014 at 11:24 pm
If he had to make the shots on the 1st try then why did they allow him the 2nd shot? after heRead More missed the 1st half court shot that should have been the end. Publicity shot or not i commend Pizza Hut for stepping up to award him the $10k. I hope that Jack uses that money and pays if forward some day.
ron February 21, 2014 at 02:17 pm
They did not let him take a second shot. The ball just took a bounce right back to him so he quickRead More threw up a second shot. The bottom line was he lost and that should have been the end of it. There should have been no whining or complaining. Maybe Pizza Hut should give 10K to all the prior contestants whom lost but at least followd the rules and did not complain.

Wheels was okay. Not great, but okay. Just okay, at best. Comcast was (justifiably) looking forRead More something better than "just okay" announcer wise. Sarge? Yikes. Don't know how that fellow - who sounded like he had a mouthful of mushy marbles when he spoke - EVER made it on to the announcing team. Sarge was the reason most of us listened to the radio instead of live broadcasts on TV. Awful, just awful. Hate to say good riddance because he was a seemingly genuinely nice fellow - he just never should have been in the announcing booth.

Congratulations to these students. Note to Nate: They are not "Named Merit Scholars"Read More yet. The process is: the semi-finalists will have a chance to become finalists, and the finalists will have a chance to become the winners of national merit scholarship.

Congrates to these students

its classic good news, bad news. The good news is that the Patriot football team is off to a greatRead More start. The bad news is that football game played on Friday made it into the Patch on Tuesday. and OK, maybe you didn't know where Octorara is located-we'll give you the benefit of the doubt---but you don't have to tell us that you didn't know!. The Patch is modeled after the NY Times..."all the news that's fit to print...eventually, and maybe not from our sources/staff."

A HS football game, big deal. learn to take what you can get. If you care about the game so much,Read More you can post it yourself, can't you? As for the rest of us, we don't care about it. A note to Nate: don't report anything next week. I am sure that is going to drive Bob nuts. Let's have some fun.
